about
Finally. A national anthem we can all be proud of!
For decades, we Australians have had a national anthem that doesn't appropriately represent all Australians. Nor does it acknowledge our First Nation people, all whilst our government treats asylum seekers, Original people and our land and water with disdainful human rights and ecological abuses, despite the meaning of the national anthem's words. And, let's face it, it just sounds archaic.
This song elucidates upon the first line of key stanzas in the old national anthem and sapiently expands upon them with astute veracious observations.
Many call the 26th January "Australia Day" not realising that it creates such anguish and anger because that was the day this continent was invaded. So, many others call it "Invasion Day" because that's what actually happened, whether you like it or not.
I'm not against the concept of having an Australia Day, but it should be on another date out of respect for those who'd suffered for over 2 centuries.
So to create a respectful healing, I propose we should probably rename the 26th January, "Reconciliation Day," whilst we find another appropriate date to celebrate being Australian.
Listen to the words and deep feelings of this song & let this profound message reach far and wide....
And look out for the awesome contender for our potential new Australian flag.
If you believe in the sovereignty of First Nation people as well as positive change, share this post now...
(The name of the Aboriginal elder heard speaking deep wisdom has passed away and therefor his identity must be respected, yet his profound message lives on)

Advance Australia Truly Fair
Lyrics
Australians all let us rejoice for we are young and free,
Free to be compassionate for those who're less lucky, for those with less than we,
To advance Australia truly free.
Our land abounds in nature's gifts of beauty rich and rare,
We cannot let any government destroy what's ours not there's,
Destroy what's ours not theres,
To advance Australia truly fair.
Beneath our radiant southern cross we'll toil with hearts and hands,
Until the rich oligarchy see and truly understand,
that this is not their land,
united here we stand,
To advance Australia fair and grand.
For those who've come across the seas we've boundless plains to share,
To respect First Nation Original people and thank them for their care, yes thank them for their care,
To advance Australia truly fair,
Truly fair
Truly fair...
